My Wicked Blanket :)
Took me about…2 weeks? Maybe 3, to make this, by hand, double-crochet, 10 ft by 6.5 ft, while in Junior year of college.
Again, to cover my bases, made NO profit from it, it’s currently hiding out in a trunk in my closet because I don’t want it to get dirty :)
Soooo this is my current long time crocheting project: a huuuge Lannister afghan. It can also double as a tapestry because it really is that huge. I’m about a third done now.
This was the first thing I ever crocheted, so the uneven edges and weird looking letters are me learning how to do it. It did a lot of other, smaller stuff in the meantime so I could probably do way better now. Well, it’s my own fault for starting with the letters.
I created the pattern from an official HBO wallpaper I modified a bit.I wanted to do a Stark afghan originally but couldn’t get the yarn I was looking for so this is the result. I also have a cross-stitched Stark pillowcase in the works. Maybe I should just focus on one thing at a time…
So today is apparently “Maddy posts all of the pictures of herself day” so let’s go for one more. I made this thing a few months ago but I finally just took a picture of it. This is an 8-bit Mario blanket that took me almost two years to make, it is giant, I had to stand on a chair to take this picture.
I’m working on this blanket for my brother for his birthday on July 7th. He’s turning 7! :)
I started late (yesterday) and am afraid I won’t get it done in time. In total, there are 725 squares. 350 are blue, 200 are black, 76 are red, and 99 are tan.
How long do you think it would take to make this blanket? I REALLY want to have this done for him and then make these for his friends:
The hats aren’t a necessity, the blanket is, but I’m afraid I won’t have it done :(
Finished my Latin project! A crocheted portrait of Julius Caesar; all done by me pattern by me
My hands are swollen from working on this for hours on end
My crocheted Dean/Cas squares that are going to be part of a Dean/ Cas inspired blanket I’m making. I know it’s hard to tell, but they’re supposed to be kissing.
This is my mom’s blanket for her birthday. It’s not going to be done by her birthday, but it’ll hopefully be done when I go back home in a little more than two weeks.
A lot of the blanket was me utilizing leftover light blue yarn. This is why dye lot is important, people. Truthfully, I don’t care. I’d care more if this were a blanket I’m selling. Which it isn’t.
What a difference a day makes, as I finish the first of two panels for a Tetris afghan.
My Merlin Blanket ^-^
Took me 153 hours over a few months in my Senior Year of college, double-crochet, 10.5 ft by 7.5 ft, made the pattern myself on excel :) I have to say, my favorite part is Camelot in the background :)
The ‘Lange Libban Galdorcraeft’ at the bottom, according to my Old English Professor, means ‘Long Live the Magic’…well, Galdorcraeft means ‘enchantment’ but the actual word for magic apparently has negative connotations so this is basically the nice way of saying Magic :)
One more time, NO profit made from this. I WAS going to send it to the BBC, donate it to Children in Need, but alas, Merlin finished airing before I managed to get enough money to do it :(
…I know, the noses are really weird and the faces don’t have much detail. It’s really hard to get a 3D image into a 2D blanket…
I figured it would be cool to see the progression on The Blanket from Hell.
I’m a big Gone With The Wind Fan. A crochet crowd member posted this on the site. It is beyond awesome.
Today I finally finished crocheting the Legend of Zelda blanket for my boyfriend’s birthday. It’s the biggest project I’ve ever completed (the only things I’ve ever knitted or crocheted before are scarves, hats, and tiny bows). It took about 15 days to make it. I think it came out rather awesome. :D
Edit: I recently opened an Etsy shop and blankets similar to this are now up for sale. I take requests, in case you want a blanket like this but want a different character on it.

IT’S FINALLY DONE
This blanket took me 2.5 years to make. Instead of a 1st anniversary gift for my boyfriend it is a No More Gifts for You for a Long Time gift.
I cried a little when I finished it. And wore it like a cape for a bit.
Mother and daughter etsy users Harmonden worked together to produce these impressive crocheted 8-bit video game rugs! (via MAKE | Crocheted 8-Bit Rugs)
